Stopped in for a celebratory breakfast today after my son s braces were removed. For the first time ever., I got front of the door parking and seated right away. It helped that it was a Thursday late morning and everyone is working and or in school. Excellent service as always, out waitress was very nice and had excellent recommendations. I personally love the decor, gives it that dinner filling. We ordered chicken and waffles and green chilaquiles special. The food was delicious. My only request and this is probably a personal preference I would have liked the hash browns to have been more crispy and seasoned. The middle was almost not cooked enough. But we still eat them so. There you go.
Came here on Sunday morning by putting ourselves on the waitlist via Yelp about 15 minutes before we arrived at the restaurant. We ended up waiting for about less than 5 minutes to get seated after checking in with the hostess. There is outdoor and indoor seating but we only had the option for outdoors at that time. The outdoor seating area had cover (and also heat lamps for presumably colder weather) so it was comfortable. We ordered cold brew coffee, the classic with sausage and waffles and the corned beef hash with crepes. The savory items were pretty standard for brunch, nothing really special, but the waffles and crepes were really good! The crepes came with lingonberry butter as well. Service was good, but it took a while for the food to arrive due to the restaurant being packed, although the drinks came out quite fast. I'd recommend the sweet breakfast items over the savory stuff. There's parking in front and behind the restaurant but it's limited so you might have to wait or park elsewhere and walk over. Would come back here!
If you're after a classic diner experience with a family-friendly vibe, Uncle Joe's Pancake House is a solid choice. The ambiance is exactly what you'd expect--cozy booths, traditional decor, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it easy to relax. I tried the chicken fried steak, which was pretty tasty. The steak was tender, and the gravy was delicious--rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The pancakes were also a hit, with a subtle hint of vanilla that made them extra tasty and fluffy. As for the service, it was okay. When our server paid attention, everything came out fast, but they did forget our extra order of sausage and gravy on the side. Despite the minor hiccup, the staff was friendly, and they quickly corrected the mistake once we mentioned it. The place was quite busy, but it still managed to offer a decent breakfast meal without too much of a wait. If you're in the mood for a good, hearty breakfast, Uncle Joe's Pancake House is worth a visit!
Uncle John's Pancake House on The Alameda is a great spot for a hearty meal and a cozy atmosphere. I recently tried their Irish coffee and pancakes. While the coffee was a bit overpriced for what it delivered, the pancakes were fantastic--huge portions that were both delicious and filling. The menu offers a wide variety of options, catering to different tastes and preferences, which is always a plus. The service was commendable, with the staff being attentive and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. The ambiance is inviting and pleasant, making it a nice place to enjoy a relaxed meal. Overall, despite the slightly steep coffee price, Uncle John's Pancake House is definitely worth a visit. The generous portions and diverse menu options make it a solid choice for a satisfying breakfast or brunch.
4.8!! The hubbie and I reaaaaaally enjoy this place! There are 2 locations in South Bay, one in Campbell and one in San Jose. Their food is always consistent at both locations, and the portion is humongous! The pricing is reasonable as well especially with the large portions. It's a bit harder to find parking at the Campbell location during prime time (weekend brunch times). There are more parking at the San Jose location with the nearby neighborhood. The service is efficient and quick. I always get the big boy breakfast, because I love all the proteins. My husband ordered country fried steak for this visit, and he changes his order each time and has no complaints for each dish. Some orders come with a hot griddle side and you have options to pick between 4 types and customize it to your liking. I have ordered pancakes, crepes, and waffles. My favorite so far is the chocolate chip waffles (SO GOOD!!). The waffles were perfect consistency and crunch. Crepes were my least favorite, the flavor and texture weren't like crepes I've had before. The spread that came with it also wasn't the greatest combo with the crepes. Bottom line: Good price, large portions, good flavors. Will keep coming back!
Uncle John's is one of my favorite brunch spots in the Bay - their omelette souffle is like nothing else, so light and delicious! Staff are so warm and attentive, and we've enjoyed sitting both inside and outside (the patio is super dog-friendly). I like that you can order egg dishes with a griddle item on the side and get sweet and savory. We've tried multiple dishes - I always come back to the omelette souffle and Swedish pancakes.
I've tried the Campbell location once (take-out) and thought it was quite good and wanted to go back. This time I also got take-out and it was ready within 15 mins. Parking lot is quite small but additional parking in the back. Bustling diner vibes - very crowded on a Sunday lunch. I got the south of the border omelette with Swedish crepes as my griddle item. Also comes with hash browns. Omelette was pretty standard, I liked it better than the bacon avocado omelette I got last time. Loved the Swedish crepes! The lingonberry butter goes so well with it. I liked rolling up the crepe so I could get multiple layers with each bite. Both times I've gotten take-out so I think dining in one day would be the move so the food is fresher and less soggy.
Great brunch spot for people and dogs! I've been fostering a dog for about a week now, and something I didn't really consider as part of the challenge of fostering is finding places to eat. Uncle John's had a sign that said "We love dogs!" and they really lived up to that. He's not a service animal, so he's not allowed inside, but luckily they had plenty of shaded, outdoor seating. The shade was a must on a hot summer day, for people, but especially for the dog. The second we sat down too, a waiter came by and offered to get a water bowl for the dog too, super kind and thoughtful. He was admittedly a little in the way (he's a big dog) but the staff was super accommodating and went around or gently nudged the dog when needed. As for the food, it was a solid brunch experience. I got the bacon avocado eggs over country style potatoes with a side of sourdough toast and there was really nothing to complain about. The potatoes were nice and crispy, something I really despise about a lot of diners who rush potatoes out of the kitchen half raw on the inside and completely bland (hash browns are often the worst offenders for me). The avocado came as a wedge, I had sort of wished it was seasoned and mixed/mashed but that's not a big deal, I could do that myself if I wanted to. And you can't really go too wrong with scrambled eggs and bacon, although they do a hard scramble and not the runny kind, which is my preference anyway.
Uncle John's Pancake House is a popular place that serves boozy drinks and generous American breakfast classics. The decor is simple with old nostalgic pictures and pictures of their dishes. My food came out fairly quickly. I appreciated the fact that they heated the plates before putting the item I ordered on them! Corned Beef Hash & Eggs: Made from scratch! Tender corned beef brisket, diced potatoes, bell peppers, onions, two eggs (any style), any griddle item, or toast (4/5). I went with poached eggs and the Swedish crepes. I love made from scratch corned beef Hash! They did a great job with all the ingredients from the red bell pepper and carmelized onions to add a slightly sweet flavor to the dish and soft potatoes. My only gripe would be the eggs were poached too long, so the yolk was well done. The Swedish crepes were good, especially with the lingonberry butter and powdered sugar. Guava Juice: A good brand, flavorful and not watered down. The service was friendly and helpful. Katie S took care of me, and she was friendly, attentive, and polite. Pretty much their whole staff was very friendly, enthusiastically serving their patrons with a smile. A crowded and popular place to meet up with friends for breakfast/brunch.
